good part of Sunday 1330 to around 1830... Playing hockey... Inter-constituency tournament... Padded up as keeper again after so long... Was freakin rusty at first but got warmed up as the games progressed... Double knock out(lose two games and you're out..).. Lucky for the Tampines East team we won the first game 1-0.. Penalty flicks... We scored first.. I saved the ball after... Bottom right... Went down on my knees and all, quiet gabra... Rusty wad.. But we got through... phew...Was playing half field at delta... 15 minutes for two halves... Hot day turned cloudy... Great weather to play hockey...Played against a red jerseyed team.. Rather strong.... Had some fantastic shots on goals for our part but game was down to nil nil till whistle blown... Sudden death penalty flicks again... We attacked... First flicker shot extreme left. Out... Pressure... Damn, if I let this in they'll win and we gotta pack our bags... Focus... player took aim and flicked, my bottom left... ting... hit the crossbar... lucky me, more chances to screw up now.. another round... bang we scored... me next again... looks like he's gonna flick to the right... breathe in... move. bang... saved the ball... we're through to the quarter finals... 8 teams through... such a long afternoon.... sigh... next game, played against 4 man team... we scored 3 goals, good game... didn't even touch the ball... made it to the semis... semis, more experienced team... don't think it would be easy... surprisingly they held out and played for the penalty flicks... haha ironic... tossed the coin... we defended first... chinese player, square footing, straight shot i guessed... sure enough, right into me.... saved...guessed it right... our turn, if we score we'll be thru to the finals... aim shoot scored! wohoo.. and phew... we made it... the finals... the other team got an ex national keeper.. hard to score against him but not impossible... we had a tight defence, fullbacks on form... play game... they tried to break into our defence but failed... we kept playing the ball high... played the flanks and tried to penetrate into their defence... phew... tough... i thought that it would go into flicks again... don't think i'll be cut out for a fifth save in a row.. we broke through... brought the keeper out to the left... forward took a shot and bang... we scored... relieved...whistle... euphoria...we had won... haha funny thing,.. throphy, medals and flashes... clean sheet... superb backs, mid and forwards... wad a day.. think i'll retire while i'm still high...
